This one's about having warm, supportive relationships, especially with ourselves.
Our subconscious is always trying to be honest with us. This impossibly abstract voice is coined the inner child and it's hard to hear above more concrete emotions like anger, fear, and sadness.
With practice, it's possible to listen to the gradient instead of bouncing between extremes with only the giant emotions to indicate our emotional climate.
Emotional maintenance, I'm starting to learn, isn't about checking in on my inner child on a regular basis, but walking alongside it. Otherwise, my head just ends up having a long-distance relationship with the rest of me.
