A half-petrified totem pole is planted in the dim underwater clearing where endemic animals of the Philippines surround her and her spirit cat; the Philippine eagle, tarsier (primate), tamaraw (buffalo), green crested lizard, whale shark, spotted mandarin fish, dragonet fish, and harlequin filefish.

The spirit of Neko glows in the dim light, leaning his shoulder into the rub. They're twisted around each other, they always will be; waking up next to each other, talking to each other, he’s always there, very close.

But her attachment to the natural and animal world goes beyond that, Neko is just the door. In ways she’s beginning to see more clearly as she gets older, the same spirit running through the flora and fauna of the land runs through her. She felt it most evident in Neko but with his physical presence gone and the spiritual listening she has to do to feel him near, she realizes how many other worlds and spirits surround her as well.

Behind her stretch Philippine landscapes; a lagoon island, rice terraces, rock formations, and coral reefs.
